AI Act: the 2 August 2026 milestone and Art. 14

1 July 2026 · 5 min read

High risk, human oversight, traceability: what agent teams must actually operationalize.

What still stands

The 2 August 2026 milestone for certain high-risk systems remains the date DPOs and CISOs track — despite debate on possible delays.

For agents that decide or act on people, the question is no longer “do we have a PDF policy?” but “can we block and prove?”.

Art. 14 — human oversight

Detecting a missing human_review in a log is not the same as preventing auto-decision.

Compliade maps Art. 14 to require_approval: the action stays on hold until validation.

Art. 12 — provenance

modelId, modelVersion, and occurredAt are required at ingest. Without provenance, Art. 12 proof is incomplete.
